GABALA

Gabala is located about 220 km from the capital of Azerbaijan. The Gabala region is a unique and beautiful region of the country, from where you can see the highest peak of Azerbaijan - Mount Bazarduzu (height 4466 m).
Gabala region with its rivers, chestnut and walnut groves, mineral springs is an ideal place for recreation.

Mausoleum of Diri Baba

On the road from Baku to Shamakhi, there is the village of Maraza, famous for its unique monument - a two-story mausoleum-mosque of the 15th century called Diri-Baba, located opposite the old cemetery. For a long time, the locals kept the legend that the incorrupt Saint Diri Baba was buried there. The originality of this building lies in the fact that the architect "built" the tomb into the rock. It seems that the tomb is suspended in the air.

 

Shemakha Mosque Juma

The largest mosque in Azerbaijan. This is one of the first mosques in Azerbaijan after the Arab occupation of the Caucasus. Arabic inscriptions reflected on the walls of the mosque show the year of construction as 744 AD. This makes the mosque the earliest in the entire Caucasus after the Juma Mosque of Derbent, which was completed in 734 AD.

Lake Nokhur, Gabala

Lake Nokhur is one of the most popular and visited natural sights of Gabala. Located approximately 5 km. east of the city, the lake is surrounded by forests and high mountains.

 

Tufandag Resort

It is a complex that accepts tourists both in summer and in winter. The number of vacationers that the resort is able to serve per day is more than 3 thousand. For this purpose, both comfortable hotels of different stars, cozy restaurants and cafes, as well as the ski slopes themselves, multi-level and well-equipped: blue, red and black, serve. It is quite characteristic that the Tufandag resort is expanding not only the ski infrastructure, but also related segments. There is a cable car, a hotel and sanatorium complex, entertainment and cultural facilities.
